SMG 50plus "Number One" - FOR SALE
DI Richard Malits is selling his "Number One" as his new yacht, the latest SMG 50plus is getting delivered to the Adriatic Sea soon.
FAST: "Number One" is an extraordinary fast sailing catamaran and is very easy to handle. At the Cornati Cup 2009 Richard Malits achieved attending at his first race ever first place with incredible advance in total time compared to the other attending catamarans. He also established his personal record of more than 19 knots at this race (at 25-28 ktn wind, beam reach, on flat water). Even more surprising for all attendances was the sailing performance of "Number One" close to the wind. COMFORTABLE: The SMG 50plus is more than just a fast sailing catamaran. For a boat of this type it is offering surprisingly lots of space and comfort. The center cockpit, and the middle cabine with its front and back door are giving the crew a feeling of space (open area) and free moving space.
Equipped with Anderson winches, genaker, generator, dish washer, 8 berts, 3 toilets and much more, "Number One" is perfectly ready for world wide travels.
FEATURES: The special innovations realized in the SMG 50plus are faszinating Richard Malits totally. He appreciates and confirms Gerhard Schein ideas and he doesn't want to miss them anymore:
1) The geniously easy-to-use A-frame rig made of Carbon is just brilliant and a masterpiece. Everybody who tried it is immediatly convinced: easy-to-use, reefing at any course with electric winches, and what nearly nobody believes: "Number One" is sailing excellent Wer es einmal ausprobiert hat, ist ueberzeugt: einfachst einhand zu bedienen, reffen auf jedem Kurs mit E-Winschen, und was fast niemand fuer moeglich haelt: "Number One" sails amazingly close to the wind and has a 90 degree track angle!
2) The approved diesel electric propulsion from Fischer Panda: nearly without a sound with engine speed, and this with 1/3 less fuel usage. In times like now a further good argument for this vessel!
STABIL AND DURABLE: "Number One" is a boat build with lots of effort to be very stable and for a life time use. Even in strong wind there is no twisting feelable, also the A-mast is adding to this characteristic. The complex building technique with lots of bulkheads in both directions, the fix integrated and laminated interior etc. achieves this very high stability of this catamaran. The SMG 50 is in that regard even outmatching the well know catamaran brands (e.g. from France).
